We have seen a PS3 Slim laptop mod from Ben Heck before on Geeky Gadgets, now he is back with a new version and this one looks even cooler than the last version.
Ben Heck’s latest PS3 Slim Laptop features a 17 inch 720p HDMI display, a pair of stereo speakers and a headphone jack, there is also a hidden compartment to house the power cord.
This new PS3 Slim laptop also features a built in HDMI cable so you can disable the LCD display and hook it up to your HDTV, check out the video of it in action below.
Here it is, a new PS3 Slim laptop and this time it’s black! With blue accents.
Specification:
- 17″ widescreen 720p HDMI display.
- Built-in stereo speakers & headphone jack.
- Compartment to store power cord. (left side bottom of unit)
- Stylish pin striping to make games run at blast processing!
- More air holes than a stock Slim, not that it really needs them (cough cough Xbox 360)
- You can check out more pictures and video below. Remember, if you have a crazy idea and the money, I can make the time!
Rear view with the unit open. This one has a detachable HDMI cable so you can disable the built-in LCD and hook it to an external source.
Same view, unit closed. Once again I’m using McMaster-Carr friction hinges. Expensive, but they work great. Gone are the days of me “rolling my own” hinges. “Don’t build what you can buy” (except for pinball machines of course)
Headphone jacks are something often requested that I often forget to include. Not this time! Now you can play LAIR discreetly without disturbing others.
The shape of the main air vent is a direct result of me watching my “Iron Man” Blu-Ray too much. It also kind of has a “ying yang” look and – like most of my stuff – uses the number 42 and the Golden Ratio whenever possible.
Front view. You can see the Blu-Ray slot, more air vents and USB connectors.
