Earlier this month Apple opened doors to its newest and largest store in London’s Covent Garden. We thought it was time to give the 10-year-old retail phenomenon a new look. Apple’s retail store sales for their most recent quarter were $2.58 billion. Each store brings in an average of $35.9 million in sales, which continue to rise as visitors continue to stream in.

Now this video ‘The secret mission of the terminator’ with great 3D effects is circulating on Chinese websites. In the video the terminator was on the mission of damaging Apple’s Beijing store. But it’s too hungry to move so it begged nearby with a ‘$ only’ plate. Finally it got a coin but the Coca cola vending machine threw out nothing after it put in the coin. Thanks to that the terminator didn’t have enough strength so it could only attack the store from distance and the big Apple logo was damaged.(Update: Garth Douglas is right, the machine the Terminator ...

An Apple Store Grows in Brooklyn from Marty Markowitz on Vimeo.
Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn’s out-sized borough president, sent an email to Steve Jobs asking, in no uncertain terms, for an Apple store, probably down in Red Hook by the water or maybe in downtown Brooklyn or maybe Park Slope? Maybe a nice little pre-war building with lots of light and by the express trains? Not too far from a good school and maybe close to the park? Maybe some outdoor space so customers can grill? Huh? Many in the crowd pulled out cameras and iPhones to capture the most magic of Silicon Valley moments. Jobs chatted with a handful of other shoppers, but even his 30-minute invasion did not get in the way ...

It's not surprising at all that someone has already been sitting in front of the iconic 5th Avenue Apple Store in New York City. This video was posted this morning (April 1, 2010) and from the discussion with the person who is sitting there, he was in line yesterday.
He kind of looks lonely, but if past practice is any indicator of the next few days, he'll make a lot of new friends as the line begins to grow in the hours leading up to 9 AM EDT on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010.

China is the world's biggest market, with more than a billion people, but it's a market where Apple has historically had little presence. The company just recently introduced the iPhone, where it has gotten off to a slower start than in other, much smaller markets.
