This somewhat long piece of machinima shouldn't be nearly as amusing as it is, but if you're coming down from a Heavy Rain high, get ready to laugh. Everything from the uncomfortable close-up loading screens to the overwhelming atmosphere of despair is recaptured using the Grand Theft Auto IV engine. The really funny part? This mash-up actually appears to control better than the drunk-bear-driving-a-truck controls in Heavy Rain.

Creator David Cage hinted at it last month, and now it's official: Heavy Rain will get support for the PlayStation Move motion controller.
The confirmation comes by way of Belgian gaming magazine Chief (via Gamer.nl), which reports that Heavy Rain will indeed get Move support. It looks like there weren't many other details (or at least they weren't relayed), so it's unclear how soon the support will come after the controller's release this fall.
Adding Move support to Heavy Rain certainly makes sense: Basically all of the Dual Shock 3 controls in the game are already designed to mimic the motions of ...

After year’s of waiting Heavy Rain finally hit the PlayStation 3 last month. Since then, gamers have been meticulously trying to achieve all of the game’s rumored 20 plus endings. To satisfy the gamers eager for DLC, Quantic Dream announced a series of downloadable episodes dubbed, “The Heavy Rain Chronicles”. Episode 1: The Taxidermist, was offered as a pre-order incentive to anyone who pre-ordered the game here in the US, along with those willing to spend the extra money for the European Special Edition. Heavy Rain received rave reviews, but does The Taxidermist live up to the high bar the original game ...

With the reveal of PlayStation Move, the question on everyone's minds is whether or not Heavy Rain will be updated to take advantage of the motion controller.
While Quantic Dream is quiet on the topic, we do know that the developer had originally designed Heavy Rain with a motion controller in mind. But taking it a step further, David Cage revealed to me that they went as far to design a working motion controller, specifically for the title.
Designed for two hands, the controls were to allow for full interaction with the on-screen environment. While he didn't go into any great detail, ...

If you're hungry for more Heavy Rain, then you'll be pleased to know that it's getting episodic DLC, so you can keep enjoying that top-notch writing and quality acting. The first episode is The Taxidermist, and Sony has released some screens to let you all see what it looks like.
It will be interesting to see how well these DLC episodes sell. Heavy Rain had fantastic launch sales, but the reaction from those paying customers has been very split, with some adoring the game, and others hating it. We'll soon get to see who thought the Heavy Rain experience was worth ...

Heavy Rain for the PlayStation 3 is an emotionally engaging psychological thriller. Se7en, starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, is an emotionally engaging psychological thriller. What happens when you combine the two?
As I played through Heavy Rain, I actually found myself waiting for the "What's in the box?" moment, so seeing a mash up of Quantic Dream's interactive fiction with Se7en just seems so natural to me.

Heavy Rain director talks Australian censorship, branching paths, mundane tasks, and creating emotion at at game's Paris premiere.

Reader kuroner says that while playing Heavy Rain the other day, he stumbled on a little glitch. One that leaves one of the game's stars, Madison Page, completely naked.
SPOILERS
He says that following the love scene between Ethan and Madison in "On The Loose", in which he declined the kiss but ended up triggering the sequence anyways, he reloaded his save game later and bam. There was Madison. Playable, and in naught but her birthday suit.

What if Heavy Rain, which is so often heralded by creator David Cage as "interactive fiction," was just a bit less interactive? Is the game's story and cast of vaguely-French-sounding characters strong enough to carry a feature-length film? We might just find out, some day -- internet super-sleuth superannuation recently uncovered copyright documents which reveal that New Line Productions optioned the rights to turn Heavy Rain into a movie on May 15, 2006 -- just a few days after "The Casting" trailer (NSFW) was revealed at E3.
This doesn't ensure the development of a Heavy Rain movie, of course; it only ...
