While it's far from the most practical of ideas, people just can't seem to stop trying to make their iPhones more SLR-like. Joining that illustrious group is one Aniebres who, typos aside, has built one of the most impressive contraptions to date. We're still waiting to see what the end results look like, but the hardware side of things looks to be surprisingly solid, with the iPhone 4 slotting in with a satisfying click, while the entire lens mechanism has been shifted over to line up with the iPhone's camera (and make room for an Apple sticker). Head on ...

We knew that the iPhone 4 had an excellent camera, but we hadn't thought to try it on any non-terrestrial subjects. It turns out that when paired with a telescope, it can take some gorgeous shots of our only satellite:
A clever stargazer paired his Planisphere-equipped iPhone 4 with a Pencil Borg telescope (175mm/F7) and Vixen LV5mm eyepiece, which apparently makes for an impressive, portable sky-shooting setup.
While I like my Angry Birds as much as the next guy, there's some kind of powerful poetry in seeing the iPhone 4, the latest and greatest gadget of the moment, train its sights on ...

Last week during the QuakeCon keynote address, John Carmack pulled an iPhone 4 out of his pocket and shocked the audience by showing a demo of id Software's next game, Rage, running on the device. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Rage will have elements of racing games and first person shooters. There's also said to be RPG elements in the game as well, making it sound similar to both the Fallout series and Borderlands. Information is still limited as the game isn't slated to launch until 2011, but either way the following demonstration is beyond impressive:
According to John, id has ...

The title says it all! Yes, you can now get very alpha version of Flash (aka Frash) running right on your iPhone 4. Previously, we showed you how to install Flash (Frash) on iPad. We’ve posted videos and interviews of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak before – the man happens to have a lot of interesting things to say.
But do check out this recent video, recorded last week at the Campus Party in Valencia, Spain. In a conversation with a live audience, Woz speaks out on Antennagate (again), Apple and its relationship with Google and his own relationship with chief exec Steve Jobs.
Unfortunately, the questions from the audience (which were presumably posed in Spanish and needed to be translated on the spot) are not included, but you can guess what they were.
A couple of choice ...

The iPhone has changed quite a bit since the original iPhone 2G was launched back in 2007, both in terms of hardware and software, the iPhone 4 is much faster than the previous version of the iPhone.
Chris Pinnock and Mike Hellers decided to make a video to see exactly what the difference in speed was between all models of the iPhone, it is quite interesting to watch to see how the iPhone has developed over the years.
As you can see in the video, the iPhone 4 launches Plants vs Zombies in 8.5 seconds, whilst the original iPhone 2G took a ...

Regular readers will know that recently I’ve liked to state my bias in the title of my mobile device reviews: I love the iPhone. Some will call that being a fanboy, and that’s fine. But really, it’s just my opinion that the iPhone is hands down the best mobile device out there. If there were a better one, I would use it. But there’s not. So I use the iPhone. And that’s the angle I take towards these mobile device reviews. It’s simple: if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. Well, one finally has: iPhone ...
