It can be a real hassle putting an audiobook into iTunes when it’s split into many different files. Especially when the files have helpful names such as 01.mp3, the seemingly endless list of files that results in your iTunes library makes listening to a book quite a chore. Lucky for you, I have an absolutely free method to make listening to books a pleasure again by combining all the separate files into one audiobook file. The method uses a script from Doug’s AppleScripts for iTunes, an extremely useful site with a plethora of scripts for Apple’s media application. The particular script ...

This is the best Safari extension I’ve seen yet, it prevents all iTunes links from launching the iTunes application, keeping you contained within Safari. NoMoreiTunes works by blocking the script that tries to start iTunes when you click on a link to the iTunes Store. This is seriously useful, and I am quite pleased for it to be my first installed Safari 5 extension, I’ve tried a few others but this is the first to actually stay installed. I’m looking forward to when Apple has the full iTunes App & Music Store directly on the web, but I have no idea ...

From time to time iTunes can take a very long time to open. This simple fix seems to resolve the slow application launch: * Launch iTunes * Immediately hit and hold the “Option” key * Select your iTunes Library, usually /Music/iTunes/ * Click OK iTunes should now but be considerably faster when loading and quitting. The interesting thing is that you’re loading the same music library as before, so the speedup must be related to a more recent cache being available. - Quoted from OS X Daily - (Source: OS X Daily) Please follow @chrisdata on Twitter!

Hey iPhone, welcome to 1997. Following Opera's script in building grassroots hysteria to goad Apple into approving a contentious app, developer Greg Hughes is teasing a video of his Wi-Fi Sync app to the peoples of planet internet. As the name implies, the app promises a complete sync of your iPhone or iPod touch with iTunes without having to tether and looks pretty straightforward (and occasionally useful) based on the video demonstration found after the break. Greg says he'll be submitting it to Apple for approval at the end of the week -- good luck with that Greg, we ...

The problem is there's no any setting you can do in iTunes to tweet out the song. Now I start to teach you how to do that by just one simple AppleScript file and change the username & password in the file to your Twitter's one and it's done! Good news is I added the support of Growl notification too, so every time you tweet the song it will give you a ...

Middleman Syncs Virtually Any Device with iTunes on a Mac

Mac only: With platforms like Google Android becoming more popular, lots of Mac owners have opted for non-Apple mobile devices, leaving them without a good way to sync their music. Middleman is a free app that syncs any USB mass-storage with iTunes. Nexus One portion of icon by Mihail Nikitin. CD portion of icon by Mazeni77. We've featured a few apps that sync non-iPod devices with iTunes on Windows, but the Mac scene is pretty bare. Lots of users don't particularly like doubleTwist, Songbird is still as buggy as a warm June evening, Salling Sync costs a whopping $20, and iTuneMyWalkman, arguably the ...
