ZumoCast, a new cloud storage service application that streams music, videos and files directly from your home desktop computer to another Internet connected device. ZumoCast also launched a cloud storage service Zumodrive. Zumodrive creates a drive on your device that is synced to the cloud. But instead of syncing those files with all of your other devices, Zumodrive tricks the file system into thinking those cloud-stored files are local, and streams them from the cloud when you open or access them. ZumoCast was launched as a way to avoid cloud storage costs on multiple devices. Via the web and ...

Evom is a great free app that converts video and lets you easily download any flash movies from the web. The interface is dead simple, just drag a URL or file into the app and the video will download or convert for you. Downloading YouTube songs with Evom Now here’s what I think is the best part about the app: you can easily download any YouTube video and just save the audio track as an mp3, letting you play it in iTunes. This is great when you find a video with a song that you love but you can’t track it ...

Libox is a peer-to-peer application that scans all the media on your primary computer (photos, videos, music) and then streams it to other devices with a Libox app or browser. You can see all your photos, and play all your videos, and even listen to your entire music collection. It is all streamed from your laptop, which acts as a server. It does require some set-up. First, you must download the desktop app from Libox, which scans your computer for all your media (photos, videos, music). This can take a while, and of you have a lot of ...

MyPhoneDesktop Links Your Computer and iDevice the Way Apple Should Have

Froyo? That's just what the myPhoneDesktop app eats after a hard day of wirelessly zapping links, text and images from your computer to your iPhone or iPad—a taste of the mouthwatering functionality Google demoed on Android last week. As it becomes clearer that smart phones and tablets aren't people's lesser computers but simply their other computers, one of the greatest frustrations—and something Google tantalizingly promised to address with Android 2.2—is how isolated all of these devices are from one another. Thankfully, myPhoneDesktop lets your iPhone and iPad get intimate with your Mac, Windows or Linux PC, without the USB chastity belt ...

From time to time iTunes can take a very long time to open. This simple fix seems to resolve the slow application launch: * Launch iTunes * Immediately hit and hold the “Option” key * Select your iTunes Library, usually /Music/iTunes/ * Click OK iTunes should now but be considerably faster when loading and quitting. The interesting thing is that you’re loading the same music library as before, so the speedup must be related to a more recent cache being available. - Quoted from OS X Daily - (Source: OS X Daily) Please follow @chrisdata on Twitter!

You don’t have to be a movie buff to appreciate a good foreign film, but unless you know the language, you will need to watch with subtitles. Adding them to your movies, TV shows and video files can be fairly easy, and you have a few options to do so. The file format of the video usually doesn’t matter when it comes to adding subtitles, but naturally, playback is another story depending on how and where you want to watch it. If you’ve got a film that doesn’t have any subtitles at all, you can usually find them at websites like ...

You can run Mac OS X in Grayscale mode by adjusting the display settings in the “Universal Access” control panel. Likewise, you can stop a Mac from running in greyscale mode and get full color back by disabling the setting in the same system control panel. The settings are part of the standard Universal Access capabilities inside System Preferences, and while they are intended to be used for people who are visually impaired, I have seen a few pranksters adjust Mac’s to grayscale mode just for fun – it certainly confuses people. Note that changing your Mac to run in grayscale ...
