The Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker figures from Square Enix (who, yes, also make toys) that we first spied earlier this year are now available for preorder. They are both detailed and expensive.
There are four figures available: Snake, and three Metal Gears from the game (Pupa, Chrysalis & Basilis). Snake stands a decent 26cm tall, but the Metal Gears run a little smaller. Prices also vary, Snake and Pupa running around USD$50-60, while Chrysalis & Basilis will will set you back around USD$70.
They'll all go on sale in September.

Sony in Japan once again updated their Walkman lineup today, this time with the Walkman W series. The new NWD-W253 [JP] has two things going for it: first, it’s waterproof (IPX5), which means you can use the “Wearable Walkman” in the rain or even “wash” it under water. And second, Sony will roll out a special Metal Gear Solid – Peace Walker version.

One of the most iconic "power-ups" in gaming has to be Metal Gear Solid's cardboard box. This new Japanese ad for Kojima's latest, Peace Walker, gives the stealthy item the spotlight. In the commercial, a Japanese schoolboy can be seen stalking a few of his fellow classmates. As he finds the two alone, he strikes, asking them to "please enter my box."
Unfortunately for the girl, the box boy wasn't asking about her. He invites the other boy into the cardboard box, as the commercial introduces the new co-op box-wearing mechanic of Peace Walker.

Since completing Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots a whopping three times — once for each difficulty setting! — I’ve been positively fiending for a new Metal Gear fix. You might have heard of some of the cool tie-ins and product placement that will make it into Konami's upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, but here's a full list to look over and giggle at. Hideo Kojima has kept his promise to his fans and released one last gameplay video of his latest title: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Kojima wants to ensure fans of the series will feel right at home with Peace Walker even though it’s on the PSP and not a home console. The clip features the classic Metal Gear Solid style stealth gameplay that you have come to expect from the famed franchise.

We quite like Kojima Productions' tactic for promoting Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker: long clips of uninterrupted gameplay footage.
In the latest video, a trio of Snakes, along with some soldiers, team up to take on -- a helicopter. Or, if you prefer Metal Gear Solid 3 naming conventions, The Helicopter.
